Forest School Sessions and Curriculum Immersion Days: on your school site or at our dedicated woodland site on the Bathurst Estate.

'Play is an essential part of every child’s life – vital to his or her development. It is the way that children explore for themselves the world around them; the way that they naturally develop understanding and practise skills. Play is essential for healthy physical and emotional growth, for intellectual and educational development, and for acquiring social and behavioural skills.' Forest School Sessions

For schools in Stroud, Cirencester, Gloucester and surrounding areas, we can deliver Forest School sessions in schools from Reception to year 6 during Curriculum time and as an after-school club.  While a broadleaf woodland is the ideal, many schools do not have this provision.  Sessions can be tailored to school grounds creatively using the Forest School model subject to site visit and risk assessment.

Themes from the classroom can be explored as a way into Forest School although it is not long before the children take the lead.  Games, activities  and practical skills encompass team building and problem solving.  As a personal and social process Forest School complements PSHE and enrichment, and supports the Prime and Specific areas of learning.  We uphold the intrinsic value of play as crucial in age related development and learning - in line with the Playwork Principles for all children.

Sessions are ideally  minimum of  2 hours and run  for a minimum of 6 weeks for maximum benefit but short term and taster sessions are available.

Curriculum Immersion Days: Full day hands-on fun in a game format.

We can help bring classroom topics to life. Explore life in the Stone Age or Anglo Saxon Britain through woodland crafts and skills.
